Over R50 000 in prizes to be won These new awards will cover two specialization areas this year, ie: A) Water and B) Energy. Each category will be sponsored and accompanied by a monetary prize. These awards will be for application and not specifically focused on innovation as in the past. Team submissions are allowed, but prize money will be divided evenly among team members (or in a ratio previously agreed to by all team members). The awards are for work undertaken during 2009 and will be judged in March 2010 along with the other Awards categories, ie: Chemical Technology Undergraduate Student of the Year 2009 This award is open to all final-year students in the chemical engineering departments at universities in South Africa. Chemical Technology Research Paper of the Year 2009 Chemical Technology Industry Award A cocktail party will be held in March when winners will be announced and prizes awarded. In addition, the winning articles will be published in the April 2010 issue of Chemical Technology. Closing date for entries (which should not be longer than six typed pages, double-spacing) is 26 February 2010. |
